Description of Property
Shingle Cove is a 2.4 acre property which sits nestled in a coconut-filled secluded cove just 15 minutes from the main town of Castries. If you are curious, "shingle" is not the type of roofing on the houses but is the name taken from the original colonial land survey of the property and is a British term meaning pebbly beach.

Within the property are three separate houses with a total of 6 double bedrooms, all en-suite.

The Main House sits up above the cove overlooking the ocean.

On the front of the house, facing the cove, is a large open verandah that has a lounging area and is the main dining area.

There is a large kitchen with an adjoining utility room, a study area, lounge and 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms.

The Pool House lays behind the freshwater swimming pool area directly on the ocean front.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with bathrooms en-suite, each bedroom has 2 single beds, and a large adjoining balcony which overlooks the pool and the ocean. Downstairs is another larger suite with bathroom, kitchenette and a patio adjoining the pool.

Private beach bar.

The Hill Cottage sits nestled on the hill among the coconut trees.

It has a double bedroom , en-suite bathroom, kitchenette and a porch with a spectacular view of the sea and passing ships.

Shingle Cove is lush and tropical, with an abundance of flowers and fruit trees. Hibiscus, bougainvillea, ginger lily, birds of paradise and other flowers of many colors flourish on the grounds. Mango, avocado, Barbados cherry, breadfruit, soursop, banana, pineapple, dashine, sweet potato, sour orange, ginger and many other varieties of fruits and vegetables are in season at different times. A fresh water swimming pool sits just feet from the ocean's side and is a beautiful spot from which to watch the caribbean sunsets. The sandy beach in the center of the cove is just below and the cove itself is surrounded by rock cliffs. The snorkeling in and around the cove and the rocky reefs further out, is some of the best in St. Lucia with it's tropical fish, sea fans, and sponges. The caves and the stone arch are just around the corner.

There is an endless list of things to do and places to visit on St. Lucia which is covered in part on a separate page. If you are looking for an unspoiled Caribbean holiday, one with the tranquility of ocean sounds, chirping crickets and the shimmering moon, you will find it at Shingle Cove.
