Guest Book Quotes
"Where do we start, we had a fabulous time, the Ploners however said it best when they cited the wonderful people we spent our vacation with. We have dubbed Shingle Cove `Fantasy Island.' Lazy days were spent exploring St. Lucia's beaches, Castries' shops and lolling by the pool. The most beautiful sunsets, rainbows, seashells, shops, food -- it feels like the lost paradise! For those who have a taste for adventure, take a jeep ride to Soufriere on the old road -- there's nothing like it. Letitia and Oliver will take good care of you too! We recommend eating in -- wonderful!! A must is a ride into Castries to Rain, a wonderful old restaurant. We'd like to thank Fairfax International for making this wonderful holiday possible."

"Shingle Cove is more than a retreat or a vacation spot. It is a place with profound spiritual peace . . . where one can recharge the soul!!" -- Pamile Burton, Florida

"Thank you for the use of your home in St. Lucia for our family vacation. Our stay at Shingle Cove was the most relaxing and exotic trip we have ever had. The house and grounds were absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained."

"Rosie did a tremendous job on the house and her delicious Creole cooking. Clifton and our housemaid were very pleasant and attentive to all our needs. I don't believe we would have ventured out as much if it wasn't for Chad, our taxi driver and tour guide. Joan-Paul had the house well prepared upon our arrival. Everyone associated with Shingle Cove and every native we met exhibited what I describe as an unexcitable kindness and charm."

"As usual it is the people you come in contact with that can make your vacation. You truly have an outstanding crew and should be proud of the service they provide your guests." -- Richard and Marie Van Fossen

"We agree with what previous guests at Shingle Cove have expressed. However, living in the tropics as we do, and travelling extensively in the Caribbean, we tend to seek out places to stay that evoke the special qualities of the islands they are located on. St. Lucia is not about concrete villas on a hill. It is about the smiling handsome people of Ciceron, the lumberyard, the Pot Luck "supermarket," the hand-painted sign for cake decorating classes, the children in their school uniforms, the "restaurant" under a blue tarp with buckets for seats, the hot bread at the bakers next to the Shell station -- there at 9:20, gone at 10:00.

The lullaby of the waves makes evening hours a continuum of tranquility. Morning merely alters the tempo and the instrumental ensemble. The serenity remains. As we sit on the broad veranda of this fine St. Lucia home and take note of its felicitous appointments for the last time we are so aware that our stay here has left us better that when we arrived."
